| ‘On Saturday 8th November, SWWJ members gathered online for a poetry workshop on the subject of inheritance. Having discussed our own thoughts on the topic, we looked at poems by Owen Sheers, Pascale Petit, Eavan Boland and Ted Mico to explore how poetry can chronicle what we have inherited from those who have gone before us and what we might leave to those who follow. We thought about the tangible things like property and possessions, and the intangible, like mannerisms and memories. We then looked at some poems sent in by workshop delegates and chatted how we may explore this question in our own poetry going forward.
