For Professional male writers who have had a body of recognised published work in literature, drama, journalism or poetry. Self-published books are eligible if you have sold over 200 copies.
When applying for Professional Associate Membership, you will need to confirm your professional writing credentials. Experience to be included on the form:

• Books (fiction and/or non-fiction), poetry pamphlets, plays(give all titles, publishers,,publications or production dates).
• Stories/articles/poetry (give names of periodicals and dates of publication)
• Television/film/video and radio scripts (give brief particulars)
• If any of your publications are self published or an e-book edition, please indicate. All self-published and e-books must be accompanied by evidence of sales which must have reached a minimum of 200 copies
• Writing competitions – give particulars of wins

Professional Associates are awarded post nominals to recognise their professionalism. We need to ensure they are awarded appropriately. We will be looking for experience and a professional level of publication. Assessment of applications is done by the SWWJ Council made up of professional writers. Payment will only be requested when the decision has been made. On acceptance by Council you will be entitled to a Press Card, for which we require a head and shoulders photo. Once Council has reached a decision on an application, the decision is final.
